Andras arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2007 in the deal that also saw Krisztian Nemeth come to the club from MTK Hungaria. Liverpool had struck up an arrangement with the Hungarian club whereby the reds get first option on any of their talented youngsters. Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi would later join Nemeth and Simon at the club.
Nemeth was the player who carried the biggest reputation, and he made a big impact in his first season. Simon however, missed a lot of the campaign with a shoulder injury, and when he eventually got himself fit he found it difficult to get in the side as Nemeth, Brouwer and Pacheco had the forward spots nailed down.
In the rare appearances he made, he did himself no harm with some good performances, and his first goal for the club came against Wigan Athletic when he found the net with a header from close range. He has also caught the eye when representing his country at youth level alongside Nemeth. He's a tall forward, with very good feet who links the play well and can operate in a deeper role when needed.
