Can someone tell me the differences between the 40gb and 60gb version (apart from 20gb disk space!)

Seems to be the 60gb one plays PS2 games but the other doesn't? Is that it?

Will the 40gb play normal DVD's

Super Audio CD is only supported with the 60GB model.

USB PORTS
There are four USB ports on the 60GB model only two on the 40GB. You can always increase the number of USB ports by using a USB hub.

FLASH MEMORY CARDS
The 60GB model supports multiple memory cards (CF, SD, MS). The 40GB doesn't.

PS2 GAMES - BACKWARDS COMPATABILITY
The 60GB model supports many PS2 games - what's more there's an upscaler on the PS3 60GB model that further enhances and improves graphics of PS2 games. There is no backwards compatibility for the 40GB model.

LAN CABLE
A LAN cable is included with the 60GB model. You'll have to purchase it separately for the 40GB model.

This might all be moot anyway as the 60gb version looks hard to find and seems madly expensive

edit: - because they don't make them - cheers. Shame that as I have loads of PS2 games.

Its just another output from the PS3 mate. So you have HDMI cable and optical audio cable going from PS3 to receiver:

Given I am getting it all tomorrow I was just going to get a couple from Richer Sounds when I get the AV receiver

You can probably get them better/cheaper on the net presumably, but I'll want to get it all set up tomorrow.
