Ipod help

as i have already written on here, i have got my new Ipod classic and it has taken me like 2 days to convert 60 gig worth of music into MP3 format.

my next challenge is getting the bugger to work. the second i plus the usb cable (linked up to my ipod) into my PC the monitor goes blank and my PC restarts again...just what the fuck is going on!

Sounds like you have some fucked iPod drivers on your machine mate.

So:

1) Start the PC, but don't connect your iPod

2) Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall iTunes

3) Restart PC

4) Download the latest version of iTunes here:

Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes

5) Connect iPod

Re: Ipod help

Dear Auntie Weeksie or is it iPod,

I have a problem.

My Iomega 500gb external hard drive, which contained my entire iTunes library (in excess of 6,000 songs) broke and is being replaced.

Can I copy the tunes back from my iPod to the new hard drive?

I'm sure I've done this before by clicking the "Show Hidden files" option then copying pasting the iPod library back to the hard drive.

Yours,

Col, you will need a third party app to do this mate, iTunes won't be able to do it on its own.

I've never had to do it, but here is a list of whats available:

Comparison of iPod managers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Maybe some kind soul on here has had to restore their iTunes library from their iPod, and can recommend something?

Re: Ipod help

I have a program, cost me about a fiver and you can simply upload all songs from your ipod onto it's itunes like interface and then drag them into itunes. I am in work at the moment but will paste the link when I get home. It's pretty cool if you wanted to borrow a mates ipod and help yourself to a selection of his music aswell. Not that I would ever do such a thing obviously.

Re: Ipod help

Yet another iPod manager - Documentation

Woohoo. This allowed me to copy all the tracks from my iPod onto my new hard drive.
