Internet problems, need help please!!

I was on the internet on Tuesday when all of a sudden i got kicked off, something about a port came up as an error message, my computer can find my router and it finds the ip address but when i open firefox it keeps saying 'page not found'. I've pinged the ip address and everything is ok and ran a diagnoses test on my router menu page and that tells me everything is ok there too.
I've had to do a system restore back to a Monday to get back on yesterday but when i tried to get on the internet today that 'page not found' page comes up so i've had to do the system restore again today.
My WEP secure key isn't working anymore either so its saying my internet isn't secure anymore.
My head is like mush with this computer now so any help is mucho appreciated.

Dude,
Turn off your wireless router for 5 mins from the power socket. Then restart. This should cure your problem, but give it 5 mins.

Its been unplugged all night and i've reset it but i had the same problem when i turned it on today.

What wireless router do you have? What IP address are you seeing (**.**.**.*** or 192.***.*.*)?

My computer was finding another router the other day and it was using that address so i was trying to tell it to find mine but when it did i couldn't get on the internet.

Thats the IP address that the router has assigned to your laptop/PC. If you look at your ADSL connection info, in your router menus, you should get a different IP address. I presume you are on ADSL. If you are you should have a ADSL connection. I think it's not working because you might not have one. If you don't have a connection. Then you need to take the phone line out of the router for 5 mins and then plug it back in. If you still don't have an Internet connection contact your ISP and tell them to boost your ADSL signal, I think!

You're not using Zone alarm by any chance are you? A recent Windows security update has caused problems with Zone alarm, resulting in connetion problems. There is an update available if that is the problem though.

I am using zonealarm, i'll take it off for the next time.

I forgot all about that

It might be something to do with the Windows XP updates which are conflicting with Zone Alarm products.

Is right, the most recent XP security update is incompatible with Zonealarm. Either uninstall the update or do this..
