Viewing TLW on your mobile
Does anyone visit the site using their phone? I've just installed some plug in that should make the site easy to read as there's a new style set up thats basically just text based. I've set it up so when someone logs in from a mobile, it should automatically force them to use this new style rather than the normal TLW CLassic style.
Problem is, I don't think it's working. It works for me, but thats because I'm admin and I can view any style that's on the system, even if it's hidden to everyone else. I don't want to make this 'mobile' style visible as an option because when it's selected it doesn't give you the option to change back unless you log out and log back in again.
So can someone check the site out on their phone and tell me what it looks like. Basically, if it looks anything like the way it does on your pc then it hasn't worked. There shouldn't really be any colour in the mobile style. You shouldn't have to change your style either, it should be done automatically.

Re: Viewing TLW on your mobile
Ive just tried getting on and it said you have been denied acccess to this forum the reason is that you are visiting us from a place that has been blacklised as an open proxy ???? no idea what that means, could be my phone. I can see the website in the background though and it looks the same.

Looks okay on my Blackberry Dave. I can see the banner at the top but I don't see the ads which is handy, and I can see Monty in the top left corner, which I don't see on my pc.
It would be good if you could disable avatars for mobile users as they can cause it to take an age for the page to load, especially the animated ones.

Yeah it's kind of half working, as you can see by the little note at the bottom of vv's post.
In the mobile style I'm trying to get working, avatars arent shown.

Right, I'm going to make the style visible in the style options at the bottom.
Give me two minutes then have a look.

Re: Viewing TLW on your mobile
my last 2 posts told me i was posting from a mobile. Is this what going Gold does... gives you the power to pretend you're mobile when you're not?

Re: Viewing TLW on your mobile
Not sure why it did that though, as TLW Classic is still the default setting for the forum and thats what everyone should have seen unless they actually selected 'mobile' from the style options at the bottom, which I know you didn't do.
It usually looks ok on my mobile, but it does look better with the new style as you don't have to scroll down the page for miles to find stuff.

Re: Viewing TLW on your mobile
Is everyone now posting from a mobile device?
Or is this a lesson in not trying to fundamentally alter the site on a Friday night after a few beers?

Re: Viewing TLW on your mobile
And why is still saying 'posted from mobile device'? I've deleted that message from the admin cp now, so it shouldn't be showing up, but what concerns me is that the forum thinks people are posting from mobiles!
