I'm a dad!!
After a fair few number of yrs, and much heartache along the way, my wife gave birth to a lovely baby boy on Mon night.
God forbid he should follow in the nephew's footsteps and follow Utd AND Chelsea. ( I used to really like the kid too).
When, and how, should I begin the brainwashing?
He's only just over 5 lbs so getting any sort of team shirt is pointless for now, he's just too wee and dinky.
Make it snappy please because my quality lurking time on this site is about to drop to a minimum
Cheers groovers

Hurragh - congratulations man.
Brainwashing is so last year.
Let the little dude have some freedom of thought.
If he goes to the dark side give him to social services and make another one- its much easier

Congratulations. Beeing a father of a boy just 10 weeks ( on sunday ) old I know first hand the pride and jubilation ( and fear ) you now feel. Waking up and listening to every sound he makes, go checking he`s all right every 10 mintues. :) It`s brilliant!
Regarding Brainwashing, there is never too early. If you check out the Billy Thunder thread you will see a picture of my boy in a Liverpool jersey. Pictures beeing taken when he was 6 ( maybe 7 ) weeks old!
Go on...start brainwashing.....now!!
Again, congratulations!!

Begin the brainwashing? Are you trying to tell us you haven't been humming FOAR to the mother's belly during the pregnancy?!

Re: I'm a dad!!
Fantastic. There's something profoundly joyous about birth. I don't know you from Adam, but I do feel genuinely happy. Babies are ace.

QUOTE]
Fear's the word. As soon as he was out and I clapped eyes on him that kicked in. He's so wee he can't keep warm, we have him wrapped up like the michelin man. He's not allowed home yet, so I'm worrying about him from the minute I leave the hospital until I get back in again.
And the pride- oh yes. Seeing all the midwives cooing over him, its had me fighting back tears. And I did my first solo nappy change today. I learned not to let his winky point out the side- nappy change number 2 came a hell of a lot quicker than I expected!
My admiration for my wife is now beyond stratospheric. It was bad enough watching her in that pain, there is no way on earth I could deal with actually going through that.
Any women who has a kid is officially harder than Chuck Norris. FACT.
