Crash - the film

Watched this t'other day. Found myself wondering why I was watching it in the early stages, but it all gets pulled together fantastically as the film goes on.

Two standout scenes, the one where Matt Dillion pulls Thandie Newton out of the car, and the one with the shopkeeper pulling the trigger. Maybe the former strikes a chord with me as I've done something similar at work at a road traffic collision. I've looked around and see that the film got mixed reviews. For me tho, 8/10.

Anyone else seen it?

Re: Crash - the film

It is a cracking film, takes a while to get going but the ending leaves you very satisfied.

Re: Crash - the film

Sucks, was hoping this thread was about that quality movie crash, with them weirdo's shagging in the back of car crashes, Deborah Kara Unger, quality schoolboy wank material.

Re: Crash - the film

The majority of critics hated Crash. Mainly because the message wasn't subtle, but also because the characters are too superficial.

Re: Crash - the film

Brilliant film, suggest everyone sees it at some point.

Read last night that they're making a twelve part tv show based around new characters. Should be interesting viewing.

Re: Crash - the film

Very good film. The scene where the shopkeeper pulls the trigger is one of the most moving scenes in cinema in my eyes. I agree that it starts out a little bit slow and jumps around a bit, but it comes together beautifully.

Brilliant film .
That part with the shopkeeper is probably one of the few moments in my film watching that left me feeling stunned

It won best picture over Brokeback Mountain, which raised a few eyebrows to say the least.

Re: Crash - the film

Crash won Best film, best original screenplay, film editing in 2006

Great film. Were all racist's was not an easy sell, but a very good thought proviking film. Defo one of the best in 2006.

Same way this is England was one of the best in 2007.
