One for the computer techy nerds
My daughter has downloaded an .exe file (sweetimsetup.exe) that is sitting on my desktop. I checked it and it doesn't seem to have a virus and a quick Google search says the same, but when i try to delete it, it says that it is being used. How can I tell what is using it, and how can I stop it from using it so that I can delete it. I tried to delete it at startup, with no programs, other than the ones that start automatically running.
Any ideas?

open the task manager, check the processes tab. If it's in there then right click on it and end process then delete it. If it still won't delete then deleting it won't do anything anyway. Just sit back and wait for the pop-ups next time you search for anything.

I've been trying to get this off my son's computer tonight. Do you reckon there's something going on James?

Cheers Weeksie. It is from those fucking irritating msn winks. I've got rid of it, but the homepage keeps defaulting to this page.
Jim's no doubt got it from his penguin.

I caught the penguin off rb14, the bastard.
this program doesn't seem to be installed, but it won't let me remove the setup file on the desktop. I can't see it in the processes in the task manager and I have closed everything I can that could be "using" it. Any ideas?

Re: One for the computer techy nerds
as usual, the meatster comes good. I couldn't do a straight delete, but delete on reboot worked a treat. Fucking ace.
