Striker hits two but youngsters lose

Marvin Pourie scored twice but Liverpool u18 blew a half time lead to crash to a 4-2 defeat at Middlesbrough this afternoon. The German youngster continued his impressive early season form with a first half brace as Hughie McAuley's men let 2-1 at the break, but Boro came storming back in the 2nd half to claim the points, and condemn the reds to their second defeat in the opening four games. There was better news for the u16s, who won 3-1 with the highly rated Adam Pepper among the scorers.
