Liverpool were left to rue a host of missed opportunities as they failed to turn around a half time deficit against Manchester United. The 2nd half was one way traffic, and the reds played some excellent football without the end product. Flynn and Brouwer both squandered clear headed opportunities, and Anderson threatened twice with powerful strikes that went just over. The closest Liverpool came to an equaliser was when Hobbs rose well in the box and headed Anderson's corner against the inside of the post.
