Liverpool reserves can consider themsleves slightly unfortunate to trail 1-0 at half time against Manchester United at the Racecourse Ground. Gary Ablett's side have had the better of the play and have created some decent openings, but fell behind just before the half hour when Chris Eagles' left wing free kick evaded everybody and caught reds' keeper Daniele Padelli flatfooted. Brouwer and Lindfield have both headed just over and Threlfall had a 30 yard snapshot saved by the United keeper.
Jack Hobbs and Jay Spearing have both continued their recent good form, and have been the pick of the Liverpool side so far.
Look out for a further update at the full time whistle.
