Aberfan: 40 years on...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/5406568.stm

Afraid the tips that remained could slip again, the villagers wanted them removed. When their demands weren't met they dumped bags of slurry in the Welsh office.

The government finally agreed they should be removed, but the village had to pay £150,000 from the disaster fund towards the work.
Good f*cking grief. My blood is now boiling. All those children dead and they people had to pay to removing the tips.

Watched a prog on this a few weeks ago. I think the government has recently repaid the money to the village. However it was repaid £ for £. No interest, no allowance for inflation.

That is truly shocking. An absolute disgrace. The government repaid the money, but without interest. That's tantamount to stealing.

I detect a hint of sarcasm.

I think responsible politicians should take ownership of their own mistakes.

Did you vote for Ming then?

I, uh, voted for Simon

My cousin ran his leadership campaign, so it would have been rude not to

So many exiting choices!!

The sad thing is that whether he is a good politician or not is now neither here or there. The media are attacking his age and he's stupidy trying to fight them. Don't try and be down with the kids just try and be a decent politician Ming.
