Merseyside - Battle of the Bands 2nd leg!
I've left the Beatles out for obvious reasons.

Gotta be the Bunnymen from that sorry list.

I went for the Christians. I like a few on the list but haven't heard enough of the Bunnymen or the La's to vote for them. I have however seen the Christians when they were touring their acoustic set a couple of years back and it was awesome.

This thread goes to prove that when it comes to music Liverpool is lacking big time. Manchester pisses all over us!

Yeah; if you like late 80s/early 90's shite. Smiths? Oasis? New Order? Stone fucking Roses? Fuck me, you can tell it never stops raining in that shit hole of a city.
As for Liverpool bands: The Relatives, Pinhole and The Moonies were/are all ace.

Re: Merseyside - Battle of the Bands 2nd leg!
you've missed a load of bands from that list
elvis costello and the attractions, the icicle works, a flock of seagulls, frankie goes to hollywood, teardrop explodes, wah etc. Also as well as excluding the beatles you've missed out lennon and mccartney as solo artists which means Instant bad Karma for you.
From that list its the bunnymen.

The Christians where a quality band, the first album is very good. Also if you ever get to hear the song "Words" by them, brilliant.
Bunnymen was never a fan till I got to about 26, when I really started to listen to other stuff other than being blinkered by what had blinded me years previous.
The La's over fucking rated, one or two good tunes at most Cast where so much better.
I am glad the Beatles where not put in as i hate them too, two over hyped ego's. It wa Mr Harrison who kept that band together.
So I am with Monty on this one, even though I disagree about his aniaml fighting decisions

That my friend is bollocks. Manchester has more commercially successful bands but the music that the city produces is overall inferior to Liverpool. The Beatles, The La's, Echo and The Bunnymen and The Coral are all great bands on that list. Not to mention Shack, The Stairs and The Pale Fountains who aren't even included in the poll. The new music around Liverpool is excellent at the moment as well. Bands like The Pedantics, The Silloutes and The Maybes? are boss, get your arse down The Zanzibar and see for yourself. Here endeth the lesson.

The Aeroplanes (my mates brothers ex-band) and the 747's are making quite a name for themselves too.
