Bullying In Work

My workmates (including Mav and Michael Howard I might add) are attemting to bully me.

Because I have dared to declare that I'll be supporting Brazil and not England in the World Cup, I have been declared a traitor, and I am now being subject to 'attempted' intimidation by my colleagues. This has included :-

Draping my chair with an England flag;

Putting a cuddly "Come On England" bulldog on my desk;

And worst of all - putting a magnetic England sticker on my car bonnet, which I failed to notice and so suffered the ignominy of driving home in public with it on show.

Clearly this amounts to a full-on declaration of office warfare. So, anyone have any clever ideas for dealing with these desk-bound weasels?

Re: Bullying In Work

Send a nasty e-mail to the Scotland supporters association reminding them they're not in the world cup, and that, despite all the Mel gibson inspired bluster to the contrary, they never won their freedom, and are in fact speaking our language.
Enclose pictures of their respective cars draped in England merchandise, and be sure to enclose home adresses.

In exercise of my right to reply I would ask you to note the following:-

  • What sort of dork doesn't notice an England banner on the front of their bonnet
  • Fundamentally I'm not arsed about England. I just like seeing the Liverpool lads do well. Although I admit I do become a hypocrite if England are doing well in the latter stages
  • But I can't go to the next stage and actually support another country. (And I never called him a traitor. I just thought it would be funny to trash his room. Oh and his car.)
  • Especially Brazil. I mean come on that's like the premiership equivalent of deciding to support ManUre or the Chavs because you think they'll win something. I'd have some respect for you if you supported T&T!!! But going for the favourites - way to live on the wild side
  • And Scouse - we're not finished!!! I'd bring some wash and go to work for the next few weeks if I were you

All valid reasons and excellent use of bullet points.

Apology awaited SM

To make clear. I was uninvloved in Mav's little jape. Although I agree that your adoption of Brazil does smack of glory hunting.

I am Welsh and therefore always support my beloved Wales at the World Cup (albeit they have never made it to a WC of the soccer variety in my lifetime - nor do they appear likely to).

I follow the fortunes of England whether [when] they crash out or storm to victory with the same sense of detached wry amusement.

But driving home with your Eng-er-land magnetic flag on your car SM . . . . . . . classic muppetry of the highest order.

now then . . where did i put those magnetic "Vote Consertative" and "Save the Pound" banners . . . . . . Fiesta isn't it?

Re: Bullying In Work

Ok, I'll accept your explaination. And you know full well how I managed to drive home without seeing it, given how my car was parked in the car park. I'm traumatised for life...

Oh, and the support for Brazil isn't about glory-hunting, it's about the appreciation of football over the Everton of international football.

On an unrelated topic - anyone know any good respray shops in central Birkenhead who could paint the cross of St George on say......a fiesta?
