Jacob's Ladder

Watched this film over the weekend for the first time in ages. Still some really chilling moments in it, and ambiguities over what's actually happening and what's just in his head.

Tim Robbins is great in it too. That is all.

Re: Jacob's Ladder

Top film! One of my favourites, that is. Watched it many a time and still find it quite scary in it's way..

Talking of scary stuff. Got hold of a copy of Threads a while ago. Anyone who grew up in the 80s may remember this along with all the nuclear war scaremongering that was going around at the time. It was a "made for TV" film first broadcast on the BBC, and I remember being scared shitless watching it with our kid at the time, hiding behind the sofa/cushions when the bombs went off.

Well, fast forward 20-odd years and I picked it up on DVD. And, to me as a 30-something year old, it still made me want to hide behind the sofa. Almost. I'm a bit braver nowadays, so I just hid beind the cat instead.

P.S. The cat suffered no lasting damage.
