Yet more computer help needed..

..a few of you may know (as I have already posted 4612 requests for help) that the registry fucked up on my girlfriend's laptop. This led to us having to run the system recovery disc, which meant we lost all but windows. I have now reinstalled everything, but there are two quirks to the internet that were never there before...
1) We have Broadband through Blueyonder, which I find to be pretty damn reliable. We had no problems with it before. But now, it is doing some fucked up things. If I go on skysports.com and click on the link to the football page, it always comes up with the server cannot be found etc screen. What's doubly weird is that this then kills our connection and I have to restart the computer and the modem to be able to connect again. A similar thing is also happening with currys/dixons.co.uk. With these sites (which are obviously the same but with different logos), when I go to look at their LCD tvs, the pictures don't load and again, our internet connection dies. What the hell is going on?
2) Youtube, Googlevideo etc...these used to work absolutely fine, but now every video plays the first two seconds then stops. I have downloaded Shockwave so I don't understand at all.

Please help someone, as this is doing my computer-naive head in..

Re: Yet more computer help needed..

It sounds like it could be related to not having flash installed as Sky Sports home page uses that. How old is the laptop though?

I get disconnected sometimes for no apparent reason and I have to reboot. I put it down to the fact I'm using BT Fusion which is relatively new technology and the modem/hub is a bit temperamental. Perhaps the router is damaged, or maybe the microfilter?
