Rock Ferry
Was just walking along Grove Road and I saw these scals running out of the Spar with their hoods up brandishing a cricket bat, quickly followed by two Asian blokes with a hockey stick. The scals, about 5/6 of them, looked like they were shitting themselves as these two fellas legged them. It was a pity the shopkeeper was too slow to catch them. Fucking nuts.

Ice or field? If it was an ice hockey stick he'd have got them.

Re: Rock Ferry
How strange. Was the sporting weapon connection a coincidence? Does a hockey stick beat a cricket bat in that situation (in a Crococdile Dundee style "that's not a sporting weapon, THIS is a sporting weapon...")

It was a field hockey stick. They were pretty immobile compared to the jet-healed lads they were chasing. I am not sure if they were trying to rob things or they was just acting the goat in order to get a leg. As I got closer to the shop, one of the assistants was standing in the door way holding a rather large piece of glass so they'd obviously been smashing windows.

And the long winter evenings must simply fllllllllyyyyyyy by.
I worked in New Ferry for a couple of years and was convinced that that place was made of non reflective material. Oh and you never heard a bird cheep. And you could tell it was summer when the girls swapped their trackies for denim mini skirts to show off their corn beef legs.
Oh happy days [not]

New Ferry is just about the roughest place I know; up there with anywhere over the water.

The Ford was well worse, infinitely. I've had the misfortune of living in both places and New Ferry is like play school compared to The Ford or the North End. Not that it's a competition. On The Ford there was a guy shot to death answering his door. One lad eight doors away from me at the time is doing time for murder (the one where the guy was murdered leaving The Ritzy), another lad four doors away was charged with murder but that had to drop the charges due to a lack of evidence. One day, my close was on the front of The Echo due to the amount of homes raided for drugs. It was scary shit living there.

Not any more, mate. Have you ventured on to the Woodward estate recently? It is like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie.

Yep, within the last few years at least. I ammended my post, above. The Ford eclipsed anything I've ever known. It had the highest amount of teenage smack heads per head than any other place in Britain, I don't think it does anymore, though. I drove through there last year and it seems to be going back to how it was when I first moved there.
