Is still the best version ever!!

I would love to be able to get a data update so that I could have the current player / teams / history etc.

It's simple, easy to play, looks good, and runs really quick.


I've looked on the web before but couldn't find it, but does anyone know if there is a download available to make the old versions current?

Is that the one where the CD was black and grey? I was fond of that one myself. As far as I know you can't do the updates on the old games, but I could be wrong. I'm sure there's some nerd out there who has written a programme to do it.

Maybe have a look on the champ man web forums and see if anyone on there can help?

Or just use the data editor. It'll take you a whole night (possibly a few) to move all the players around but once youve done it your database can be saved and hey presto, you got an update.

I'm too fucknig lazy for that. Then there's all the attributes which will have changed, and the old players retiring and the new playerrs coming in etc etc.

That's why I wanted some statto to have done it all.

And Dave - it's the one where the disk as a red football.

I still use that one now - Can't be bothered with the new ones, they suck compared to 01 / 02.

I've just started on it again as Atalanta in Italy (have put the English and Spanish leagues on just in case). Atalanta have got some quality players like Zauri, Zenoni, Doni & Commandini. They will end up going for mega bucks and then I will build my own squad of legends.

Have just bought Fowler on it but he's not doing too well at the minute.

Some guy has changed the game into 89/90! It's pretty well done too. All you have to do is to unzip it into the 01/02 folder, load the game and load saved game "Manager 89". Then add manager, and - BOOOM - Rushie and Beardsley upfront!

Hours of fun :-)

Same guy has made a 84/85 version of CM 03/04 too, but I haven't tried that one yet.
