Liverpool's second string were comprehensively beaten by Blackburn tonight. The final scoreline was 3-0, but it could have been much worse as a David Thompson inspired Rovers dominated the game from start to finish. Liverpool only managed one shot in the entire game, and that was a free kick from Mannix in the 1t half.
Striker Jemal Johnson did most of the damage, scoring twice and proving a constant menace to Liverpool's young defence, but Thompson was the best player on the park and could have had a hat-trick had it not been for Jerzy Dudek.
Triallist James Tunnicliffe played the second half and made a good impression at centre back, whlst James Smith, Miki Roque (pictured) and Jack Hobbs were pretty solid.
