Anyone use a toaster?
Was in the shops and it caught my eye. Apparently it makes hot bread that people call toast, which sounded good but I'm still unsure.
Anyone used one for work or a hobby or something?
Any help is gratefully recieved.

Re: Anyone use a toaster?
I've used one.
If you buy a newish model,it'll have a liitle control (knob) with numbers next to it.Don't turn it to the highest number unless you like well-done toast.
Other than that you should be ok unless you insert a non-compatible fork while it is live (switched on).

I find the shiny metallic ones work best. You can look at yourself all hung over whilst your bread is being magically transformed into toast.
You need one with a 5gig MHz microprocessor, Intel uranuim chip 3.0 or higher, a videocard that can accept 2.4 mexican pixels per RAM or it's fucking useless. Nothing worse than your toaster crashing just as the bread was becoming ,err, toasted.

Re: Anyone use a toaster?
What about add-ons to it. Will I spend a fortune updating models each 6 months cos I really can't afford that.
I tried to look online on the "What Toaster" website but it was just to detailed and confused me.
Are all toasters compatible with all bread or do I need special software for brown bread...and what about crumpets!!!

Re: Anyone use a toaster?
You'll need to install anti-crumpet software, as they tend to burn around the edges. Norton makes a good one, but your toaster does come with a firewall so you may not need to buy expensive anti-crumpet software.

Re: Anyone use a toaster?
Yeah I did - got it to make me breakfast every morning, hang about in the kitchen to do my bidding whilst not butting into my conversations, and then discarded it when a newer more attractive one caught my eye.

I had a nice shiny one, and it worked fine, then the wife went and installed some anti pop up software...... Its never been the same since.

Re: Anyone use a toaster?
Not much use Stu them toasters. Get a grill. That way you can do cheese on toast without the cheese falling off. Also if your bread knife is crap and prefers to bludgeon your bread rather than slicing it cleanly you'll not fit the resultant slab of bread into the toaster. (You do have a bread machine and make your own organic rye don't you?)
