Antonio Barragan's second half strike was enough to give the reds reserves their first win of the season at the Hawthorns. Paco Herrera's young side defended magnificently, and were worthy winners on the night. Peter Crouch appeared as a second half substitute, whilst new Austrian signing Besian Idrizaj was also given a run out after the break.
The only goal of the game came on 51 minutes, when the impressive Sinama-Pongolle played in Danny Guthrie, and when his shot was well saved Barragan put the ball in from close range. Crouch almost got on the scoresheet after a mazy dribble, and Idrizaj also went close, forcing a good save out of Kuszak.
