Liverpool Reserves were held 2-2 at home by the Geordies, despite leading twice through goals from Florent Sinama-Pongolle and Ramon Calliste. Pongolle completed 45 minutes, whilst Djimi Traore played for half an hour. The pair both looked in good form, and will no doubt be back in the first team reckoning soon.
Calliste showed some good touches and worked very hard. He took his goal very well after great play by the impressive Danny Guthrie, but the visitors hit back with a spectacular long range effort by Kris Gate. Adam Hammill went closest to securing all three points for his side, but was denied by a finger tip save from the Geordie keeper.
We will have a brief report at full time, and a full report and pictures tomorrow.
