Actually, although I hate the station with a passion, Radio City's football coverage is decent.
I'm not a fan of mainstream, daytime music radio. However, there are now loads of specialist shows catering for every musical taste.

In terms of your second point, I cannot abide commercial local radio. I hate the "DJ" voices they all have and even worse are th incessant adverts.
