Very true. This is partly why he's been crap against the likes of Chelsea in the past, he doesn't want to upset his England mates.
There was one incident a few seasons back when we played Chelsea in the league, Stevie and Joe Cole were going for the ball and Stevie's arm accidentally went into Cole's chest. The little cunt went down holding his face, a blatant attempt to get Gerrard sent off. But Gerrard just laughed it off. If he wasn't so chummy with these bastards he would have throttled Cole for trying to get him red carded.
