Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not writing our new lads off. In fact I'm really looking forward to seeing them play for us. However, I won't be overboard about them until I do.

I know what you mean, but I think people are getting too carried away with this pair. 35 million is a hell of a lot. Fergie has failed before. Going off some people's reaction (not including you in this) we should be throwing the towel in due to them spunking 50 million on a defensive midfielder who would struggle to get a game for us and two unproven potential Ronaldos.
