Deluded Geordies
I was watching the Reading-Newcastle game in the pub last night with a Geordie friend. I think the sight of Michael Owen in the tunnel went to his head because he offered me the dumbest bet ever: the equivalent of about 100 quid that Newcastle would finish higher up the table next season than Liverpool. He's a friend, so I asked him to rethink his offer. He insisted, thinking I wanted to chicken out of the bet, so what was I to do?

What is it about Geordies? They've got to be the most naive, manipulable fans in the world...
