The really annoying thing is that the new trilogy could have been amazing. If George Lucas had stuck to his original aim of getting Steven Spielberg to direct them all, it would have been, too. The new ones have the best set-pieces of the entire saga (Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon vs Darth Maul, Yoda vs Dooku), the best sets, great new character ideas and a potentially brilliant story line. However, they get lost in irrelevant nonsense, poorly developed characters, weak casting, wooden acting, non-existent pacing and a complete lack of dramatic tension. In short, they killed Star Wars for me.
