Against Benfica i had a big barney with a knobhead next to me, who was a scouser, who offered no support only ever jibes and slagging and didnt sing a note, not even in that special moment after they scored the second, a moment that made me feel very proud.

I agree that any player should be supported when in the red shirt, but surely you can understand (TT, notice i say understand) peoples reaction when this apparant favouritism is shown. The booing was not for Morientes in my opinion, it was for the refusal to substitue him no matter if the other player is playing better.

As for singing his name when he scored, there was some, not much, but then there wasnt much all agme really and i'm sure a lot of people would have felt very hypocritical singing his name so shortly after that incident. Not right but again understandable.
Thanks RedRobMol. It is very disturbing for us overseas based fans to see our kop turn on our own.. I'm sure many feel the way you do as did I. I also felt Moro should have been taken off. I just think that we, as fans, need to maintain our high standards. We are recognised as the best and most knowledgable fans in he world. It looks good to our "enemies" when we start to act like them. Anyway.. I'm sure many people would be feeling downright bad about what happened..
