He won't say he;s staying until after the game as he doesn't want anything to detract or destract from the game tomorrow. I believe him 100% when he says that tbh, and you have to say fair play to him for that. He could have said something earlier in the season of course, and didn't, which pisses me off. But I FULLY understand why he won't say it now.
You can imagine it can't you, in the media. "So Steven, now you've signed for Liverpool again, do you think yo'll ever look back and regret not going to Chelsea?" or "if things don't work out next season, will you still be looking for another club" blah blah blah, bollocks, bollocks, bollocks. It'd just descend in to the Steve Gerrard show again even if he did commit to another four or five years. I'm just really glad that he's at least now sounding committed and sounding a bit like a Captain again.

He'll announce his new deal immediately after the match, win or lose. I'm 110% certain of that. But he should still have the arm band taken from him next term. He's one of the best players in the world, but he's a truly woeful captain. The fact that it's taken a CL final for him to finally show some commitment, dedication and have some confidence in his team mates only proves it further.

But today is not the day for that.
