Kanye West sold 990,000 records in his first week of sales, Lil Wayne sold a Milli. Both aren't everyones favourite but the fact is they're the current heavyweights in Hip Hop sales wise. Sales aside, who doesn't know who Jay Z is? Snoop went real gay on his last album but he's still a big player, NaS? Game, T.I., Rev Runs still dropping albums, I could go on but it would bore you. The fact is the same rappers are out there, you just need to look.
Snoop is still one of the best out there and must be pushing on 60

Black Rob is lazy, Method man is lazy and washed up although he can still turn it on now and then. Like Ghostface for instance but it's not enough, he can't hold it down on it's own.

Was never a fan of Black Rob. Nah Meth and Red are bringing out Muddy Waters Part 2 later this year. Meths just been working on his acting career, getting money that way. He's been touring for the last year or so as well. Lazy, no. Fishscale and The Big Doe Rehab by Ghostface were both class.

Jay Z, an overrated, blown up icon that only came to prominence on the back of two dead people who actually had something to say, is making a comeback last I heard, after 'retiring' when we all knew that was just some shit to try and levy another few quid out of people.

Jay Z's best album was his first, "Reasonable Doubt". Which was out before
those two people died. Its a hip hop classic. Also he made his comeback about 2 years ago with "Kingdom Come" which was amazing in places. He has had another album out since then. Anybody doubting Hovas credentials as a hip hop artist is pretty hip hop illiterate. And as far as the retirement goes, he's a smart business man as he's shown throughout his career.
The only kind that interest me is marginalised like never before and everyone copies everyone else. I mean Nelly is one of the biggest stars, it's a sad state of affairs to be in Tommy and all the fresh Nike Airs in the world won't make any difference.

True. There's a good few "clone" rappers out there. But the point I've been making is look past the top ten videos on MTV and into other albums and keep current with releases because blink and you'll miss it these days.
I like Dead Prez and stuff like that but find I need to delve into the likes of Sizzla to get anything reasonable and he's hardly a rapper, people like Wu Tang lingering round, selling out. I want raw hip hop and I don't like the way it's been going for the last few years one bit.

I don't understand how Wu Tang sold out. There last album wasn't a sell out, it was just shite. They could have had 15 club bangers on it, that would have been selling out. But instead they tried to stay true to themselves, fact is there's too many fallings out in the group to produce a truly masterful album.
They managed to make hip hop safe, well done, corporate America.
