For me the pluses are:

Record as boss at L'pool:
1986 - Won League Won FA Cup
1987 - 2nd in League, League Cup Final
1988 - Won League, FA Cup Final
1989 - 2nd in League, Won FA Cup
1990 - Won League, FA Cup semi
1991 - At time of leaving....top of league, still in FA Cup
OK, Kenny had help from Bob initially and inherited a good side but that doesn't last for 5 years. He also signed Digger, Beardsley & Aldo amongst others. People say the team he left was ageing but he had some great youngsters about to break through in Macca and Robbie, he also signed Redknapp.

His record at Blackburn.
OK, he had a relatively open cheque book, Claudio Ranieri has now but he has taken a team from 4th last year to probably 2nd this year. Kenny took a team from the 1st division to WIN the Premier league, his goal may have been short term success hence some of his ageing buys but he also signed Alan Shearer. I don't think any manager will ever do what he done at Blackburn again, even with an open cheque book.

His love and passion for LFC.

The fact that along with Arsene Wenger he is the only manager to have successfully challenged Taggart to a title winning mental fight.

The negatives:

He signed Jimmy Carter, but then all manages make mistakes.
He left us. No manager has ever and should ever have to live with the pressure of what Kenny went through after 1989.

If it goes tits up, he will leave the younger generation of supporters lacking respect for him. Is that really a good enough reason not to have him?

Its a risk taking him back after 5 years out of the game. Every new manager will be a risk.

His time at Newcastle. They didn't give him a chance, he took over from their beloved Keegan and unless he made an instant improvement would never have been respected, stupid c#nts!

I'm obviously a big fan, but can anyone give me a real strong arguement as to why they think Kenny couldn't or shouldn't be the man to turn our club around and take us back to the glory days?
There's only on reason that I can think of as to why he shouldn't be our manager again and that is that, having had so long out of the game, he won't have any contacts in regards to scouting around Europe, or with agents etc, etc.
But saying that, these are things that the club could support him with anyway and it's not like we need a whole new infrastructure and youth sytem putting in place is it. What we need is for someone to fire up some of teh fantastic talent that we already have.
Kenny's the man, but Capello/Ranieri or even O'Neill (please no!) are some of the most realistic candidates.
I'd fvcking love it, but i doubt it will happen.
