That looks like a nice TV but unless they'd bring the price down by a few hundred (I'll try, you don't ask you don't get!), I'll not be getting approval from the girlfriend...

I notice that this and a few other Sony TV's have a contrast ratio of 18,000:1, yet I've seen cheaper Samsung TV's with a contrast ratio of 30,000:1 or even 50,000:1. I thought the higher this ratio the better, but how come these expensive Sony's are lower?
