Fear's the word. As soon as he was out and I clapped eyes on him that kicked in. He's so wee he can't keep warm, we have him wrapped up like the michelin man. He's not allowed home yet, so I'm worrying about him from the minute I leave the hospital until I get back in again.

And the pride- oh yes. Seeing all the midwives cooing over him, its had me fighting back tears. And I did my first solo nappy change today. I learned not to let his winky point out the side- nappy change number 2 came a hell of a lot quicker than I expected!

My admiration for my wife is now beyond stratospheric. It was bad enough watching her in that pain, there is no way on earth I could deal with actually going through that.
