First, install FEBE, which is a sweet extension for Firefox that backs up your entire Firefox profile.
Then, completely uninstall Firefox.
Then re-install Firefox.
Finally, re-install the FEBE extenstion and restore your profile backup.

Sound, done all that, although FEBE seems to have done it's thing on it's own.
