Re: Sebastián Eguren will be joining us in the summer

Looks like that story was bullshit.

Eguren Seals Three-Year Madrigal Contract
Villarreal have made use of their purchase option on Sebastián Eguren, sealing the Uruguayan ace on a three-year contract...
The midfielder arrived at the Madrigal on loan from Swedish side Hammarby in January and quickly settled into the Liga side.

His initial deal came with a stipulation that, should Villarreal like what they saw, they could then buy the player for €1.3m. This they have done, and now Eguren has been given a three-year contract in Spain.

The 27-year-old centre-back, who came to Europe with Rosenborg back in in 2005, has represented Montevideo Wanderers and Club Nacional back in his home country. He's also a seasoned Uruguayan international.

Since arriving at the Yellow Submarine, Sebastián has started 14 Liga games and has made one further substitute appearance in the Primera.

However, he did not sign on in time to play a role in Villarreal's ill-fated European campaign, with the squad already selected by the time they were eliminated by Zenit in February. His continental experience mainly revolves around a successful Intertoto Cup run with Hammarby.
