Some lad in our work used to come up with stupid ones because one of his mates was in the academy, said Stephen Glass was signing on a free transfer in 2002 and that we were "nailed on" to get Ballack after Gerrard went to Chelsea apparently this was already done but he ripped up his contract. I also remember the one about Zidane being seen at a city centre hotel.

Anyway, I've just seen Quaresma coming out of the Radisson........
According to Ballague's book, Ballack was lined up as Gerrard's replacement if he did go to Chelsea.
