Re: Rijkaard Sacked.

The upturn coincided with the arrival of Laporta and Rossell who set about clearing the clubs debt and reinvigorating the clubs playing staff with players like Ronaldinho.

Barcelona play good football (confidence permitting) anyway, they weren't a dull club that Rijkaard took over and decided to completely re-invent like you could credit Wenger for, he wasn't the one who pushed for the likes of Messi and Bojan to be put into the team either.

Laporta wanted to build a dynasty, thanks to the collapse of Madrid that happened alot sooner than they probably predicted and they got too succesful too soon with players who clearly didn't have the mentality to sustain it.

They were light years ahead of Madrid and in the space of two years managed to slump back to a position reminicent of the Gaspart era with overpaid players who don't care enough. A complete implosion headed by the coach (not manager) who lost various sections of the dressing room.

They had no choice but to replace him and a big chunk of the team and if you seriously believe that what you're seeing at Barcelona bares even a passing resemblence to what you see at Liverpool then you need your head read.
