Re: Villa captain Barry told to sign for Liverpool - by his own team-mate

I think Berger has paid the price for saying what everybody else (except for the real die-hard Villa fans) has been thinking. I reckon he isn't the only Villa player to think "yeah, Barry's done really well for a decade and deserves to play at the highest level".

I mean, a football club is a workplace at the end of the day, and Berger has probably done what any collegue would do in any other job. Ok, it's different here as the media isn't involved in every job but essentially what Paddy has done isn't really wrong.

I'll bet there's some serious editing in the original interview though to stir things up some more. It probably wouldn't suprise me if Barry has actually thought, "what would it be like to play for Liverpool, I know, I'll ask Paddy, he's been there"

If there had been an England squad coming up, then chances are Barry would have probably approached Gerrard (as they both seem to get along) and asked the very same question. Then O'Neill would have been fucked as he couldn't do anything about it.

Dougal: God, Ted, I heard about those cults. Everyone dressing in black and saying our Lord's going to come back and judge us all.
Ted: No... No, Dougal, that's us. That's Catholicism.
