goal difference vs head to head
just a thought, but i find it somewhat inappropriate that goal difference decides a title instead of head to head competition.
i'll probably get abused for bringing 'north american' sporting ideals to football, but i just think that if you play the opposition twice every year and you end up tied at the end, you should first look to the head-to-head meetings to decide the tiebreaker.
chelsea drew 1-1 earlier in the year at old trafford, and of course they beat them 2-1 at home........easy to argue that chelsea deserve the title then.
goal difference is a good indicator of overall dominance, but it doesn't take into account running up the score in meaningless games. i'm sure that doesn't look good on the sport overall ?
just a thought - fire away.......
