What we've got is a man who does nothing but kick a ball around every single day for a living, has done so for the best part of a decade and yet STILL can't use his right foot for anything other than standing on. I'm left footed and when I was a kid I used to practise hitting targets on a wall purposely using only my right foot to try and make it as strong as my left, you'd think a 'professional' would be as dedicated.
I honestly hope that last night's fuck up was his last ever act in a Red shirt.

Im not jumping on the 'kill him' bandwagon but i have to echo exactly what you've said here about being a professional footballer - its his job for god sake and when considering the zero's these players take home each year - you get better at something which hampers your game. End of story.
I remember reading Carragher was told he wouldn't make it cuz he was in the same position - he could only use one foot, but in true Carra style he redoubled his efforts, apparently stayed behind every day to train on his own and correct his flaws. He even went on to play left footed only for a while so he could master it and lo and behold - he acheived it. Riise isn't a 19yr old in his first season - he's been a professional for a long time and he should have spent these years ironing out the weaknesses. We all remember his goal at the Nou Camp last season so it proves it is there for more than standing on, so clearing that ball with his head should never have been an option if he'd done his homework properly. Very disappointing. But fuck it - he's gonna have more reason than anyone to get out there next week and make up for it, considering he's on -2 goals for the season, he's overdue a goal. A 30 yarder would silence a few in what appears very likely to be his final season for us... remember what Smicer did in his final game? Now is the time to deliver John.
