Its quite a tricky thing to do yourself. Depending on which make of drive and model number it is you can get your xbox flashed leagally at Bowlers computer fair in trafford Park, Manchester for a cost of £30-£60.
Cool. I thought Xbox live could always detect a modified machine, hence the reason I've never looked into it.
