Re: The Bitters!?
I think the problem is that most of the younger bitters now are being brought up to hate us and have this chip on their shoulder, whether it's from their Dad/other family members or (what is more likely) from the 'hardcore' pricks they meet on away coaches or in the Gladwy Street. You can see that they want to be like them and so start taking on the same ideas, singing the songs etc.
I think I've got a bit of first hand knowledge about this seeing as I'm only 18 and it's just things like hearing some of my bluenose mates, since they've started going the game, coming out with completely misinformed shite about Heysel, finding it harder to say stuff like 'what was the Liverpool match like mate?' as they used to and even becoming a bit racist. I'm far from a fucking angel myself like, but when I first started going the aways I used to go on raotl (even though I could never get registered) and just from hearing people on their talking sense you get the idea of how should go about being a genuine red - as well as the fact that I'm lucky enough to have a family who all go the game and all know the score. If I didn't have either of those though and I went to every away game on Barnes I reckon I would have been a bit more inclined to join in the Munich shouts at OT on Sunday.
