I might be wrong here, but how much security did they have to put down as guarantee to get the loan? Surely, to buy Gillett out, Hicks would only need to raise that cash plus whatever Gillett wanted as a return. Although Hicks doesn’t have the same bank balance as DIC, he’s not exactly skint is he?

After all, it’s the club that are going to have repay the debts of both the club and Kop Holdings, not Gillett and Hicks.
